No problem. I love to see how your influences naturally flow and I look forward to exploring more into sounds. You can't go wrong when you are a fan of Mariah/Janet/Lauryn etc.
I'm not a creative person (moreso business minded) but I know you have tons of content just based on your videos so I know you have much more to say and express. I'm sure you can pull some of your classic references from past videos, too. I remember in the 00s (back when Alicia Keys was bringing dem classics) she had an interview about her writing process and said it starts with a song title and then builds as she became more reflective in her emotions. Keep going forward and expressing yourself.
The industry just gives the popular artists the same four to five things to sing/rap about but we need more than the status quo. We need more Lauryn less City girls (even though Act Up was a summer banger in 19'
I just know when you get in your Mystery of Iniquity/Final Hour bag...the game is over.
Also, I'm sure at some point a duet album is coming...show The Carters how to really go Apesh!t. A true duet album with quality and no trend chasing necessary😋.
Thats actually a great idea!!!! My husband is a divo I wonder if he'll share the marquee lmao. Mystery of Iniquity! Yes, I do have a lot to say. I'm going to take my time with the next project and give what needs to be gave!!!!
Pipe Down (loved the Frozen by Madonna/early Bjork vibes...took me on a journey),
Girl you know it's true (loved the Fefe Dobson Don't go meets Prince meets Janelle Monae/Natalie Cole Jumpstart/Kelis vibes...I feel like I'm back at TRL watching a pop/rock anthem balance all the teen pop on the list. ),
Mind You (loved the Janet Anytime, Anyplace meets Velvet Rope vibes...this one made me really think about how great it is to have a strong relationship/connection),
You (I wanna know who was that. It reminded me of how they used to use samples which I loved in the 00s era),
and Season's change (great closer. Love the vibe. It gave me scene in a teen cult classic where the lead has that pivotal moment of introspection where things all of the sudden get philosophical and deep and then transition to the moral of the story. Perfect choice as a closer.
I love the fusion sounds where it connects and feels like taking me on a journey and shows your influence without just copying/paste (which a lot of artists sloppily do).
It seems reflective and introspective, and the sound throughout most of the album gave me dark r&b meets Celtic new age pop (Enya does this a lot) energy meets Space ambient which is just a chill vibey and then there's the pop/rock anthem and other sounds. I like that I can hear current but also 80s, 90s and 00s elements in the production.
Now that my friend is a damn review!!!!!!!! lol Thank you so much for listening and buying the album!!!! And thank you for your feedback! You really get me! The "You" sample is from the program I used so idk who it is either, lmao.
I'm reposting this review!!! Really sums up the vibes!

Congratulations again, Kiki!
